Talented Time Travelers in Focus #7

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE DETAILS FOR ALL THREE NEW LINKY PARTIES HERE AT THE COTTAGE!

You've all seen haircombs before, right?  Well, this one has a slightly different twist.  It was handmade by Coco @ Coco loves vintage from a vintage necklace.  How that's for using your head?

Jane @ Finding Fabulous breathed new life into an old nightstand for her daughter's room.  The perfect shade of white made all the other colors POP!

3-D is all the rage in movies these days.  Why not translate the fun to your walls as well?  Karly @ Jellybean Junkyard did just that.

This sweet sewing basket took quite a sentimental journey.  Read all about it at Diann's blog The Thrifty Groove.

With a fresh coat of green paint, Lois @ Frugal Décor Mom transported a tired old bookcase into the future.  Its youthful new appearance is a great addition to her kids' room.

Not wanting to pass up a good deal, Deborah @ Vintage Soul found a way to give this old sewing stand a new lease on life.

Subway art is sooo popular today.  So...what do you do if it's also tooo expensive?  Make your own!  Deanne @ five brothers one sister shared a great tutorial on hers.  Check it out.

She also turned some vintage flatware into works of art for her kitchen.  Too cool!

These pretty silhouettes look like time travelers for sure.  Visit Machelle @ The Blackwood Cottage to see more.

As usual, great job Time Travelers!

Time Travel Thursday #8 - Light Duty

"We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they're called memories.
Some take us forward, they're called dreams."
~Jeremy Irons~

Welcome to the eighth Time Travel Thursday linky party at the Brambleberry Cottage!
Are you ready to share your fondest memories, grandest dreams,
and most creative projects? Great!

Then, let's get this party started!

The Yankee and I found this plain glass block—with nine indentations—at a
local thrift store for 99 cents.  It was in perfect condition
with no chips or cracks.

Completely unsure of its original purpose, we bought it and took it home.

That thrift store visit was on the heels of the project where we used this
wonderful vintage beadboard to transform this...

to this.

Never being ones to throw away perfectly good, vintage salvage scraps,
we went to work measuring our little glass block.  We decided to make a
decorative box for it, out of the beadboard leftovers
from the project mentioned above.

In no time, there was a beachy beaded-board box
to house our little glass block.

Say that three times fast.   ; )

When the mirror was cut for the project above, there were two smaller pieces
left over, which, of course, we kept.

During a trip to Lowes—where the mirror had been purchased—
we had a piece cut out of one of our mirror leftovers
to fit inside this newly constructed box.

I knew the mirror would provide the perfect reflective
qualities for the project.

With the addition of nine votives, we created a coastal
candleholder for seaside décor.

It was a simple way to turn plain to pretty.   ; )
